Multi Channel Connectivity

The only RAID Subsystem in the world to offer the option to configure as a SCSI, Fibre "and" Ethernet Host Based RAID Subsystem. When used with a Legacy's SCSI-to-SCSI, SCSI-FIBRE or FIBRE-FIBRE RAID Controller(s), UDSS provides consolidated, fault tolerant storage for up to Seven File Servers or Workstations. These servers can share a single large volume, or an independent volume or array. This feature can also provide safe-failover for each of the servers.

Legacy Network Solution Map

The example solution provides a platform for both consolidated storage and all associated benefits, as well as a fast private network for file server fail-over. The diskarray with 4 servers connected provides a common concert of disks with a single parity drive, global hot spare drive, and 4 individual volumes. The servers are connected via a Fibre (FC-AL) network through a Fiber Hub. The Fibre Hub is connected to a small form factor data server, which in turn is connected via SCSI Interface to one or more Legacy DLT expandable tape libraries. The library can be used as a backup system, or as a near-line storage system expandable to over 8 terabytes.
